Workshop description

Join Pete Olds, Project Founder of Verge Garden Projects Australia, for a Talk, Presentation and Q&A session about reclaiming your verge and transforming it from grass to garden. Pete's approaches advocates utilising methods which encourages native biodiversity, urban greening and building a sense of community.

This session will cover:

  • background information on what your local verge policy is and how you can find it.
  • local native plant selection for your soil type, best time to plant, methods to remove existing lawns, how to survive without reticulation
  • examples from Perth residents and will put you in contact with a group of other keen verge garden enthusiasts of over 2,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and beyond via the Facebook Group www.facebook.com/groups/vergegardenprojectsaustralia/
